The End Of The Road

Today is the last radio show I will do on my university's radio station: BURST. I am not sad to have it over. When I came to England, I had big dreams. America the land of promise? England was my country of opportunity, and I was excited to get here. So far, however, it has not given me as many opportunities as I would have liked. Yes, I did get to do some work for the BBC and I have been on the radio... BUT I came from a radio station in Western Australia where we had an average of 500,000 listeners to a radio station with an average of 2 or 3 - maybe? I put a lot of work into each of my shows, but that work was never acknowledged. The general running of the stations was appalling, and it is sad that it is not a better opportunity for students who want to break into radio and other media industries.

Still, I have had a good time. Thank you to everyone who has listened to my show. I love playing good music, talking about music, listening to good music... And of course, I love to share a bit of Prince with everyone who will listen!

So goodbye "Megan's Mixed Bag", it's been fun.
