Will someone please come up with some NEW ideas? I know all too well how brilliant the classics are and how much new artists have to live up to... but let's at least TRY to be original. Please?

Originality? Never!
I know that my track record of updating has been less than impressive, but I am striving to do better. So I realise that three posts in the one day is a little excessive, but I am making up for lost time, as well as apologising in advance as I will be in London for the next two days. But as I was trawling the internet today I found something that rather disturbed me. Why do people feel like they need to absolutely destroy classics? Sure, modern remakes can be good (or at least fun), I thoroughly enjoyed Clueless, 10 Things I Hate About You, Bridget Jones' Diary, among others, but they are taking it too far now. Apparently, there is a new modern remake of Jane Austen's classic, Emma, on the cards. But this isn't just any remake or reworking... It is a Hip-Hop Musical remake. What now?! Jane Austen and Hip-Hop?! If she isn't rolling in her grave right now, I am outraged enough for her in the land of the living. Check out the article at Variety.
